The Mundakapadam Mandiram (Home) has its origin in the unflinching faith in God of a single man, the late Mr. P.C. George, Puthuparambil and his compassion for his fellow beings who were destitutes. In 1933 he opened his own house to the destitutes and his sister Leyamma nursed the inmates. Leyamma's friends joined hands with her as volunteers for service (Sevinees). This was the nucleus of what we see today as the Mundakapadam Mandirams.
In its God-guided passage from a tiny destitute home to its present flourishing state catering to the needs of different categories of destitutes, needy and underprivileged, the Mundakapadam Mandirams continue to proclaim all success and growth as a Venture in Faith.
The Mundakapadam Mandirams are located in Manganam, about 6 K. m. from Kottayam. They comprise an Agathimandiram , a Senior Citizen Home, a Balika Mandiram and a Hospital, and are housed on a campus streching about 6 hectares along the side of Kottayam - Karukachal road. It was registered as a Charitable Society No. K 28 of 1956.
