Palliative Home Care Project

To Serve the completely bed ridden and terminally sick people, we have started a unit consisting of a Doctor and two nurses to visit such people in their homes regularly and attend their medical as well as social needs. A number of volunteers have come forward to help the medical team. Free treatmen....

Vision 2020 is a document prepared with a view to implementing various projects for further development of Mundakapadam Mandirams and Hospital in the next ten years. The Master Plan for further development is as follows:


1. A new three storey building for Eventide Home for self supporting Senior Citizens.
2. The Chapel and the Community Hall to be renovated for making them more spacious.
3. A well equipped Rehabilitation Centre for the inmates.
4. Properties adjoining the Mandiram campus to be purchased for further development.


1. Creation of endowment for each child’s future needs.
2. Planning of some vocational training to be given to girls who complete Standard 10 or 12.
3. Foundling Home, to be established with adoption permission.
4. Starting of nursery/pre-nursery classes for children in and around Manganam,


1. Build up of an infrastructure for a full-fledged Palliative Care Department.
2. Construction of a separate Orthopaedic ward.
3. Increase the bed strength to 400 by the year 2020.
4. Construction of an auditorium, quarters for doctors and nursing tutors and a guest house.
5. Provision of Health Care facility and Mobile Home Care Clinic.
6. Cardiology, Neurology and Nephrology Departments to be established.
7. Centres for diabetic treatment and de-addiction to be started and expanded.
8. B.Sc Nursing and Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing, A.N.M./Community Nursing Course/Health Workers Course, MLT & CGFNS/IELTS training classes to be started.
9. A separate block for the pharmacy services with provision for inpatients and outpatients pharmacies, drug stores, staff rest room with toilet facilities.
10. Provision of Mortuary/Mobile Mortuary facilities.
11. Outreach programmes like community health centre, medical camps, free medical treatment, community development projects and awareness programmes to be organised.
