In 1994, Kerala State Social Welfare Board started a counselling centre in Mandirams Society campus, but it stopped functioning in 2010. As our community had counselling needs, Mandirams decided to continue counselling services and established a new family counselling centre as its project. Many families in and around Mandirams are getting lot of benefits from this counselling centre.
Of late, we have included counselling for school children and teenagers, pre-marital counselling, behaviour addiction counselling and other mental disorder counselling. Those who require psychiatric help are send to the psychiatric department of Mandiram Hospital.
Mr. Ivan Chacko (MSc. Counselling and Psychotherapy), Mr. M.C. Abraham (MSc. Psychology), Mrs. Ann Leena Mathew (MSc. Family Counselling) and Dr. Alice K Thomas (DCPC) serve as our counsellors.
Free legal counselling is provided by Adv. Sindhu Gopalakrishnan to economically backward women who are subjected to any type of harassment.
